This position is focused on the growth of Critical Control’s software business in the United States. Reporting to the Director of Business Development, the Account Executive will be instrumental in the identification and contacting of new and current customers to grow Critical Control’s software product placement’s through the GAS Analytical brand.
This position requires direct selling skills and tasks including, but not limited to, the cold-calling of prospect clients; client, market and prospect research; client demonstrations and commercial negotiations and other duties at the discretion of the supervising Director.


  • Experience in the Oil & Gas industry, ideally within similar functions to Critical Control
  • Support corporate forecasting, and business planning activities
  • Assist with stewardship and management reporting
  • Strong research skills
  • Conduct basic financial analysis and present results
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills, combined with the ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated passion for the consumer
  • Ability to gather information and data from various sources to produce solid summaries that can be translated into concrete actions
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Possess good judgement, tact and discretion
  • Incredible drive for results and process improvements


  • Cold-calling and other prospecting activities
  • Research market and client-specifics to inform sales and partner strategy
  • Providing sales support, in form of product demos, as required for both Canada and U.S. clients and prospects
  • Ability to develop and structure complex strategic planning documents, and to carry out related financial analyses
  • Develop account maps and plans to facilitate sales process
  • Creation of business case documents to facilitate sales success
  • Strong presentation skills/experience with Sr. level interaction and influence
  • Engage closely with Marketing, Sales and other key stakeholders to define and develop long term business strategies
  • Creation and maintenance of client records (in CCES’s CRM system and outside it), sales reports, and commercial agreements
  • Support projects as required
  • Provide support to other functional groups that require enterprise-level financial information such as investor relations, treasury and corporate strategy
