The Project Manager, Construction will be responsible to manage all scopes of work, trade contract awarding and administration for construction projects from conception to completion. The Project Manager, Construction, reporting to the Vice President, Development & Construction, will ensure deliverables are met in a timely and cost-effective manner, as well as according to quality and safety standards.


  • 5+ years of multi-family or commercial estimating experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of construction processes and practices
  • Highly competent in quantity take-offs, budgeting and negotiating with trades and suppliers on non-standard pricing and for extras to contract
  • Proven track record of coordinating and assisting in the formulation of planning, design and implementation of the hotel projects
  • Intermediate computer skills – (Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Project, Outlook and Builder MT systems)
  • Graduate of architectural or engineering technical school or equivalent would be considered an asset

  • Lead, coordinate and ultimately responsible for trade selection and negotiations, in conjunction with the Vice President, Development & Construction
  • Manage all scopes of work, trade contract awarding and administration (safety, insurance, WCB requirements); ensures all trade contract checklist items are in the file. Maintain trade correspondence records; organizes and analyzes a yearly tender, assist in contract awarding and administration
  • Source and hire appropriate trade and supplier capacity demonstrated by a sufficient number of trades to ensure showing up and completing work on schedule
  • Analyze and negotiate bidding process per project
  • Monitor base budgets to ensure they are appropriate and accurate for all projects
  • Attend project site meetings, participate and assist site personal and sub-trade partners with any project related issues
  • Coordinate and assist project consultant team in the formulation of planning, design and implementation of the hotel projects
  • Contribute in new project development that ensures efficiency and cost effective construction. Demonstrated by a thorough review of new projects before working drawings are complete
  • Assist the Vice President, Development & Construction to ensure all Divisional production time and profitability targets are met. Demonstrated by accurate project budgets
  • Train and mentor staff
