Reporting directly to the Director of Sales and Marketing (DOSM), the Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for acquiring and maintaining quality corporate and group accounts across the company’s western region portfolio of managed and owned hotels. A self-starter who is as adept at picking up the phone to make cold calls as they are at nurturing existing key accounts to maximum profitability, the Regional Sales Manager will be an integral part of the team tasked with developing and managing revenues in Western Canada. To be successful, the Regional Sales Manager will need to thrive in a fast-paced environment where results, recognition and reward all go hand in hand. This role will be a home-based position, and can reside in either Calgary, AB or Edmonton, AB.


  • 3-5 years’ experience in a sales capacity required, preferably in Hospitality
  • Bachelor Degree in business, or hospitality management considered an asset
  • Familiarity with hotel operations and revenue management an asset
  • Demonstrated success as a persistent sales hunter and closer
  • Pro-active and creative in identifying needs, solutions and independently acting on them
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required
  • Team player that consistently works towards a common goal
  • Exceptional customer service, dispute management and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrates a keen attention to detail
  • Must be proficient with basic computer systems, file structures and operations
  • Microsoft Office – proficient with Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint


  • Actively solicit and nurture key corporate and group accounts by strategically utilizing well-honed outside and inside sales techniques, networking and other sales and marketing strategies
  • Nurture and expand existing corporate accounts for the company’s western hotel portfolio that contribute to meeting or exceeding the company’s operating budgets/targets
  • Collaborate with hotel General Managers to develop comprehensive property sales plans that assist each hotel in meeting its room revenue objectives
  • Provide the DOSM with sales reports as required by the company
  • Maintain accurate and timely sales activity logs in the company’s SFA database (Salesforce.com)
  • Conduct ongoing competitive analysis and maintain up-to-date files of competitors’ activities, prices, brochures, sales kits, etc.
  • Coordinate and represent the company at trade shows, conferences and industry events as required
  • Plan and execute regular sales missions to hotels in designated regions and feeder markets on a regular basis
  • Work closely with the hotel General Managers, Revenue Manager and DOSM to establish selling (rate and occupancy) and market segmentation strategies that maximize hotel profitability
  • Perform any additional duties or responsibilities as delegated by the DOSM
