Overview

Reporting into the Manager, Facilities and Integrity, you will be responsible for monitoring and optimizing production, ensure compliance to regulatory requirements and work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to solve problems and promote continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • BSc in Engineering or C.E.T;
  • Minimum of 5 years related & progressive production engineering experience;
  • Positive attitude and team player – excels as part of a multi-disciplinary collaborative team; 
  • Experience in unconventional resource development and tight gas resource plays will be considered a strong asset;
  • Experience in optimization of horizontal gas wells will be considered a strong asset;
  • Artificial lift design– experienced in well optimization, gas lift, plunger lift, rod pumping and well design;
  • Data analysis – proficient in screening and handling data from multiple discrete sources, for example ClearSCADA, ProdView, Spotfire and GeoScout;
  • Economic analysis – familiar with basic methods of economic analysis and experience using ValNav;
  • Commitment to responsible development & technical excellence, demonstrated through HSE performance, innovation and continuous improvement;
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills and the ability to prepare and deliver technical presentations and reports will be considered a strong asset;
  • Excellent problem solving skills, willing to take appropriate risk, and; 
  • Familiarity with the BC Oil and Gas Commission regulations and requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and analyzing the daily/weekly/monthly production reports, and managing monthly updates to the Production Forecast;
  • Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the production data contained in the company databases, and ensuring its accessibility;
  • Provide wellsite operations support;
  • Identify and minimize production losses (with the well operations and engineering support);
  • Work closely with third party service providers to evaluate production enhancement technologies;
  • Provide production engineering expertise within a multi-disciplinary team to monitor, analyze and optimize well production;
  • Collaborate with both Field Operations and Engineering to ensure adequate field surveillance and production data integrity;
  • Plan and manage new well start-ups;
  • Identify and recommend new technologies to improve process;
  • Support Engineering teams in optimization of associated facilities;
  • Responsible for well related regulatory requirements & compliance; 
  • Act as technical resource and provide support and direction, where required, to field operations and other disciplines within the team, and;
  • Provide mentorship to junior engineers.
