The following is required as a minimum:

  • University degree in Mechanical or Process Engineering discipline from an accredited university with appropriate specialization
  • Professional Engineer registered with one of the Canadian provincial associations
  • Minimum 8 years post-degree engineering experience
  • Good knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g. ABSA Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes, API, ASME, AWS, and CSA codes)
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills (selected candidate will be asked to submit technical writing samples)
  • Experience in design, operation and maintenance of piping, valves, condensers, cooling towers and tanks and other balance of plant equipment
  • Must possess a valid Canadian Driver’s License
  • Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on full-time basis
  • Ability to travel and work internationally on occasion without restrictions

Experience in the following would be an asset for the position:

  • Engineering Consulting
  • Previous experience in the natural gas processing industry within a related technical field.
  • Experience with Gas Turbines, Pumps and Compressors
  • Practical experience participating in or leading HAZOP, Risk Analysis, Incident investigations
  • Presentation and training course development and delivery
  • Technical proposal development


  • Prepare and review calculations, design documents, specifications, conceptual studies, designs, reports, and proposals
  • Perform piping stress analysis for piping and pipeline systems
  • Perform and direct equipment condition assessments, develop testing plans, perform equipment root cause failure analysis, and support equipment restoration activities
  • Proficient in generating, reading and understanding mechanical discipline drawings including P&IDs, piping isometrics, general arrangements, and mechanical system drawings
  • Leverage past experience and knowledge to identify technical issues, risks, and value adding opportunities and appropriately address these through development of engineered solutions and/or revisions to specifications, standards, and operating practice
  • Provide engineering leadership and participation in hazards identification/evaluation, risk assessments and analysis, incident investigations and root cause failure analysis
  • Be a results driven individual who takes ownership of problems and sees them through to completion
