The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for development, administration, coordination and implementation of a wide range of marketing communications initiatives including advertising, social media campaigns, collateral development, website content, promotional items and as well as other marketing initiatives – from public relations to spray-painting decals.


As a motivated self-starter, you never stop pushing and are able to work with little supervision. You get it done, even against the odds, you are organized, able to chase and to follow-up. We are looking for someone who has a passion and enthusiasm for digital marketing as well as a love for being creative and leading edge.


The ideal candidate has:

  • A degree/diploma in a related field such as Marketing, Communications or Public Relations (other applicable education or experience also considered – we have fine arts majors who are great marketers)
  • A minimum of 3 years business experience
  • Relevant marketing, communications and public relations experience (1 to 3 years) is an asset
  • Experience in digital marketing and communicating value through digital
  • Excelled writings skills and an ability to simplify complex policy topics to digestible formats
  • Project management experience (1-3 years) is an asset
  • Strong project coordination, business writing, and reporting skills
  • Solid business acumen and problem-solving skills
  • An ability to work on your own and take initiative
  • Effective time management, organizational and leadership skills
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft office
  • Experience with digital tools an asset, and we will train, including: Google Analytics and AdWords, Campaign Monitor, Tweedeck, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram advertising, media monitoring software



Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Supporting internal and external communications efforts: external website, intranet, newsletter, PR, advertising, content writing, policy communication and more.
  • Champion the Chamber brand
  • Be a great marketer and an outstanding writer
  • Understand our voice, and share ownership of the corporate social media presence
  • Manage major marketing communications projects
  • Support the Programming team with marketing expertise and campaign execution
  • Support the Policy team with thoughtful communication of policy ideas and report development
  • Lead the marketing of Canada-wide digital technology for Chambers and municipalities in the emergency management space
  • Take ownership of marketing support for other key departments and making an impact on their communications efforts, working with the staff of those departments for constant improvement.
  • Support the coordination of Chamber events and work as an integrated part of the Events and Programming teams
  • Coordinate with vendors to ensure all marketing materials reflect Chamber branding and are delivered at exceptional quality
