Lead the account managers in training, selling memberships, sponsorships, advertising, and programming that support our members business growth
Supporting businesses to be more successful, and especially helping them grow, is the core mission of the Chamber of Commerce.
This role will manage the sales team by providing training and support to effectively maintain relationships with members and help them overcome their business challenges. The Sales Manager will be a continual knowledge seeker, demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, and will work collaboratively to suggest solutions to both growth-focused entrepreneurs, and business advocates.
What it looks like for you
You will be provided with a designated group of existing members to connect with and determine how the membership is fitting with their current business needs. You will be able to provide recommendations of products and services that the Chamber offers as a solution to meet those needs. This could include a customized advertising schedule, attendance at an upcoming event, enrollment in one of our savings programs, or a different level of membership. You have a unique ability to find a fit for the diverse Chamber products with the right member.
You are plugged in to Calgary’s business scene; highly news-literate and current affairs oriented, with a finger on the pulse of key business issues. This thirst for business knowledge gives you an edge to relate to business owners and corporations within the city.
You will spend much of your time speaking to businesses, understanding their challenges, and tailoring a solution to tangibly address those issues. You push to achieve the financial targets that support the success of the business strategy for the Chamber. To make this happen you must establish and directly cultivate relationships across a wide range of people and businesses.
Working closely with the Director of Corporate Partnerships and Sales, you provide support into the annual sales strategy and business planning. You are part of a high performing sales team and you eagerly contribute by hitting your sales targets, as well as supporting the team in achieving theirs. Your enthusiasm and energy for the role, combined with previous experience managing teams, will motivate the sales team in achieving their targets.
