    Position Overview

    People look to the Chamber to provide insight, information and experiences that can make their business more successful. Our membership growth is a reflection of the strong suite of marketing efforts and practices.  The Chamber offers a lot to its members – advocacy, policy, research, best practices, events, networking and more.  We need to ensure our existing and potential members know about all we do and see the value of our programming and activities, all the while bringing our brand to life and strengthening it with everything we do. 

     

    The role of the Manager, Sponsorships will be responsible for building, managing and deploying the complete inventory of sponsorship opportunities.

    Qualifications

    • Education: Post-secondary degree in marketing, business administration, communications or management
    • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in client management, corporate partnerships, ideally in a B2B environment
    • Experience in event planning, sponsorship activations, and sales preferred
    • Ability to navigate a room of executives, government officials and other dignitaries with grace and confidence
    • Experience in a CRM-driven environment, including generation and implementation of data analytics
    • Experience in data-driven sales marketing an asset
    • Demonstrated experience building client relationships
    • Strong problem-solving, analytical and negotiation skills
    • Experience with proposal writing and budget management
    • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work both independently and with others
    • Confident, clear communications and interpersonal skills

    Responsibilities

    Strategy and Planning

    • Research and develop new revenue opportunities including co-creation with key accounts to ensure that the sponsorship asset portfolio is current, yet dynamic;
    • Build, manage, and evaluate annual sponsorship plan that identifies sponsorable product, target markets, package opportunities, exclusivity, naming and other related properties;
    • Engage in ongoing research to identify new corporate sponsorships opportunities including conducting industry and competitive scans;
    • Develop annual sponsor opportunity catalogue that outlines sponsorship opportunities for the upcoming year to secure sponsors pro-actively;
    • Develop individual sponsor benefit packages and pricing, to include (but not limited to): activation opportunities, marketing and communications exposure, networking opportunities and brand development strategies.
    • Coordinate, collaborate and consult with sales and marketing teams to ensure relevance of opportunities to prospects;
    • Conduct evaluation of the engagement and activation with key accounts for continued improvement and report back to the team
    • Track prospects, sales and contract deliverables in the CRM to maintain a sales pipeline of opportunities that align with budget target
    • For each assigned account, create an annual partnership plan that details specific activities, timing of engagement and assets purchased.
    • Create 2 to 3 year sponsorship agreements that are customized and values based
    • Engage with existing and prospective partners to create opportunities that will achieve organizational revenue targets

    Account Procurement

    • Develop and coordinate the large-cap sponsorship program ($10,000 - $100,000+) to include long term multi-year engagements;
    • Work with the sales team to develop and coordinate the defined small-cap sponsorship program ($1,000 - $10,000);
    • Prepare and maintain targeted lists of potential sponsors for all Chamber assets

    Account Stewardship

    • Develop and execute partner recognition strategy
    • Ensure that all sponsorship commitments are fulfilled as contracted
    • At-event concierge service to event sponsors and other key Chamber supporters;
    • Responsible for the execution of sponsorship contracts for key Chamber assets (i.e. Small Business Week, Onward, speaker events, etc.);
    • Maintain regular and on-going correspondence and communication with all accounts;
    • Create all sponsorship packages, templates and agreements;
    • Report monthly on targets and execution as it relates to budget and provide an annual review of the plan.
